As a northern mountainous province, Tuyen Quang is a convergence of different cultural identities of ethnic minority groups of the northern mountainous region, with many special tradional festivals, poetic landscapes, and hundreds of historical sites. The province is becoming an attractive destination to domestic and foreign visitors.
Tuyen Quang boasts huge potentials of historical-cultural tourism development. When visiting Tuyen Quang, visitors cannot miss the chance to visit Tan Trao cultural-historical and ecological tourist site-the revolutionary capital, where President Ho Chi Minh, the Party Central Committee and most of the ministries, branches, departments and central organizations once worked during the resistance war against the aggressors; or Hong Thai communal house, where President Ho Chi Minh first stopped when he went from Pac Po (Cao Bang) to Tan Trao on May 21, 1945; Na Lua tent, where President Ho Chi Minh used to stay and work from late May to August 1945; Tan Trao communal house, where the National Congres took plae from August 16-18, 1945; Tan Trao banyan tree, where comrade Vo Nguyen Giap read the No.1 military orders of the uprising committee, to direct the liberation troops to march to Hanoi to liberate the city on August 18, 1945.
Besides, Tuyen Quang has many other poetic landscapes, primeval forests with rare flora and fauna species, such as Tat Ke-Ban Bung, Cham Chu… and many grottos, water falls, and beautiful lakes and rivers, including Tien (Fairy) grotto, Thai Son lake (Ham Yen), Ban Ba water fall, Bo Ngoang cave (Chiem Hoa)… Charming Na Hang lake is called the most beautiful lake in Southeast Asia with legendary beauty and is considered as the “Ha Long Bay on Mountain” of the Thuong Lam area. Other places include Phieng Bung plain, Pac Ban water fall, Nam Me water falls, Pac Ta mountain, Nghien premival forest… The province is offered by the nature a resource of hot spring, like a germ stone hiding underearth, which has been turned into a resort.
Tuyen Quang is place where 22 ethnic minority groups are living together, with many festivals, folk songs and dances as Long Tong festival, crop spraying festival, Then, Coi singing of Tay ethnic people, Sinh singing of Cao Lan ethnic people, “cap sac” (maturity) ceremony, Pao dung singing of Dao ethnic people, door stop festival during wedding of San Diu ethnic people…Tuyen Quang people are famous for not only their beautiful appearane but also their kindness and hospitality which have been existed for a long time.
