Phu Yen is blessed with many straits, bays and lagoons formed by mountains stretching to the sea to draw unique and simple lines. Lao wind here is not hot and dry like that in the North-Central region. Between the eighth and tenth lunar months, visitors will feel cool winds bringing taste of sea and smell of paddy. Other tourist attractions include Nui Thom resort, Xuan Dai Bay, Quan Cau pass and O Loan lagoon which is famous for romantic environment, delicious oysters and boat racing festival which takes place on the seventh day of the first lunar month of local people. About 20 km to the North is Song Cau town with Trieu Son ancient pagoda, Nhat Tru island and Tai Ma mountain. You should spend your weekends at Phun valley, Thuan Thao Conference and Eco-Entertainment Centre, Nhan tower and Mang Lang church. Da Dia rapids, a beautiful riddle of nature, are located in An Ninh Dong, Tuy An district with rocks of different positions, some are leaning and some are uprising. On the way here, visitors will see many nice houses made of stone. The region is also well-known for delicious mango which used to be presented to kings.

Other local specialties include Hoa Sa girdle cake rolled with boiled pork, Son Hoa dried venison, tuna with wasabi, lobsters and grilled chicken in Song Cau, roasted field mouse (Hoa Thanh), rice vermicelli with jellyfish in Tuy Hoa and corn vermicelli in An Dan.

You may see small temples built on five pieces of stone in front of each house in rural areas in Phu Yen. Local people call them Thu Ky – the worshipping place of the God of the soil.  Five pieces of stone stand for five gods supervising the East, West, North, South and the Centre.
