Situated in the centre of the Mekong Delta, Hau Giang consists of a network of rivers and channels, including Hau, Cai Tu rivers and Quan Lo and Phung Hiep channels… The rivers’ alluvium enriches the land. This together with the nature’s favour creates comfortable weather for Hau Giang. As a result, long time ago, Hau Giang became a large rice centre of the southwestern region, and still remains one of the largest rice bowls in the country.
Visiting the province, tourists will have the chance to enjoy the immensely green paddy fields together with orchards laden with fruits …You will also have chances to taste many special fruits of the Mekong Delta right at the orchards at reasonable prices. Furthermore, visitors are able to travel through the channel system by boats and visit Phung Hiep floating market, one of the most famous markets in the Mekong Delta. People gather in the market from early in the morning. And you will feel exicited when having a chance to enjoy fruits and food on the large river area. Tourists will learn more about the traditional life of the southwestern people. Leaving far from the city full of dust and hurry, the local people, like the mild Hau river, are very truthful and modest. They always smile with visitors. Leaving the floating market, let’s visit a special stock garden in Xa Phien commune and watch the white storks plum themselves and every flock of stocks returns home after a hard working day…. Under the slightly sunny sunset, the scenery here looks like a poetic and peaceful picture.
Like other Mekong delta provinces, Hau Giang is covered by green paddy fields and luxuriant fruit orchards. Visiting the province, our souls are wiped out; all the worries and burdens of the normal life are left behind, and replaced by peaceful moments. Who once visits Hau Giang will never forget a peaceful land which is protected by mild rivers together with powerful history./.
