We will collect you from your hotel in Hanoi at 08:00 and drive to Thai Nguyen to visit the Museum of the Culture of the Ethnic Minorities of Vietnam, followed by lunch at a street restaurant. You will arrive in Ba Be National Park in the early afternoon then driving to Hua Ma Cave. This is a dry cave in Quang Khe Commune, ranked among the most beautiful and interesting caves in the national park because of its magnificent stalactites and the legend that has been told for generations. We then leaving you with free time for cycling around the ethnic minority villages or kayaking on Ba Be Lake. You will have dinner and stay overnight in a traditional stilt house in a Tay village. Highlight and activities: Ba Be National Park, Hua Ma Cave. A 3-5km hike.
You will be collected from your homestay and driven to Lo Mo Cave area. You will spend three hours exploring about 4 km of this river cave. From main road, you will hike to the entrance of Lo Mo where you will don Petzl helmets and Hope Technology 1500 lumen headlamps. Once inside the low opening, the cave enlarges dramatically, and you will explore the high-level series with excellent photographic opportunities. You will be able to enjoy the beautiful formations, enormous passages and an underground river. The cave itself is limestone karst which has been worn away over millions of years by water erosion, resulting in an incredible subterranean landscape. The main body of the cave stretches underground for about three thousand metres following a mineral-rich underground river. Inside the chambers of the cave are a variety of stalagmite columns reaching heights of up to forty metres, mirrored by large stalactite formations hanging from the ceiling. Leaving Lo Mo, you will have lunch in the campsite then travel back to the homestay where you will have dinner and stay the night. Highlight and activities: Lo Mo cave. A 3-5km trek, 4-hour expedition.
After breakfast at the homestay, you will walk to Bo Lu Boat station to begin the boat trip around the stunning lake. This is a fantastic way to explore and take in the dramatic scenery. If the weather is hot and you feel like a swim, you can jump into the cool Ba Be lake. As well as voyaging around the lake, you will also venture down the Nang River before coming to another fascinating cave. Puong Cave is a tunnel created by the river which passes all the way through the limestone mountain. Not only are the rock formations amazing to look at, but they are also home to thousands of bats. After the boat trip, you will depart Ba Be for your return trip to Hanoi stopping for lunch on the way. You will arrive at your hotel in Hanoi at approximately 17:30.
